April 17. Nursing Grand Rounds is Tuesday
Casey Hammerle, MS, RN, CBN, program coordinator for Bariatric Surgery, will present Providing Good Nursing Care When the Patient is Large Tuesday, April 17, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Performance Center at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. The presentation will be streamed live to Classroom A/B at Community Campus and videotaped for post-presentation online viewing within the NGR blackboard course #3490: Nursing Grand Rounds. Terri Young, MD, PhD, Peter A. Duehr Professor of Ophthalmology and chair of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, will present Childhood Glaucoma Genetics Wednesday, April 18 at 4 p.m. in 4709 Neuroscience Research Building.
April 21. Women of Color Wellness Conference
The first Women of Color Wellness Conference will be held Saturday, April 21 at the Dunbar Center in Syracuse. With a focus of on empowerment, education and personal development, this event seeks to provide local women with new tools to improve their health and wellbeing. May 11. Naomi Chernoff, MD, Creativity Conference
The 11th annual Naomi Chernoff, MD, Creativity Conference will be held Friday, May 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Archbold Theater at Syracuse Stage, 820 E. Genesee Street. The conference on Aging and Desire will feature a range of presentations on creativity, aesthetics and ethics for aging, the process of aging and caring, kinetic creativity and dance, aging and desire, and a panel discussion with elders on being older.
