Upstate students to offer diabetes education to children and caregivers through display


Syracuse’s Museum of Science and Technology is installing an interactive diabetes display created by Upstate medical students that will serve as an educational tool for children and their caregivers.

Onondaga County Health Commissioner Indu Gupta, MD, presents a proclamation declaring April 24 to April 30 as National Laboratory Professionals Week to Robert Corona Jr., DO, MBA, professor and chair of Upstate’s Pathology Department during ceremonies held April 26 on the Upstate campus. To celebrate the week, the Pathology Department hosted an information table where staff were available to discuss the profession and to provide information about Upstate’s Pathology laboratories and draw sites. The Department also hosted a luncheon for its staff that included remarks by Upstate President Dr. Danielle Laraque-Arena and the proclamation reading by Dr. Gupta.
