Daryll Dykes, MD, JD, PhD, has joined the faculty as assistant professor of orthopedic surgery. He is an internationally recognized leader in adult and pediatric spine surgery, offering the full spectrum of care from the most advanced minimally invasive techniques to complex spinal reconstructive procedures. Dykes earned his Ph.D. and M.D. degrees at State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse, where his many honors have included the Dr. David G. Murray Award for Excellence in Orthopedic Surgery, the President’s Award for Excellence in Research and, twenty years later, the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis and his spine surgery fellowship at Twin Cities Spine Center. Also a magna cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn., Dykes has served as a health policy fellow in the U.S. Congress and Food and Drug Administration.
