The Rev. Terry Culbertson, MDIV, BCC, CT, received three-year recertification as a thanatologist in death, dying and bereavement by the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Rev. Culbertson is manager of Spiritual Care, supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education and clinical assistant professor of medicine.

Darren Carboni, MBA, has joined Upstate as director of Interprofessional Education where he is responsible for fostering curricular and extracurricular programming to better prepare Upstate graduates for interprofessional team work in patient care. He also will support the development of programming in the new University Simulation Center. Carboni previously served as manager for Blood Donor Recruitment at the Indiana Blood Center. A 2016 graduate of Indiana University, Kelley School of Business in Indianapolis, he received a bachelor’s degree in American studies, at Drew University in Madison, N.J.
