Linda J. Veit, MPH, has been named Interim Chief of Staff in the Office of the President. As Interim Chief of Staff, Veit will work with faculty and staff to address presidential priorities and represent the president’s office in various campus wide initiatives. In addition to her new responsibilities, Veit will continue to serve as Assistant Vice President for Community Relations. Veit brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience having been at Upstate for 32 years in a variety of posts, serving basic and clinical research needs, developing clinical-community programs, such as the successful She Matters cancer screening program, and teaching public health to first-year medical students.
Jeremy Joslin, MD, has been appointed Associate Chief Medical Officer at the Downtown Campus. In this new role, Joslin will focus on optimizing hospital clinical operations related to capacity and throughput to ensure patients are getting the right care in the right place at the right time. As Joslin transitions from his previous role as the Medical Director for Emergency Medicine, he will continue his responsibilities as Medical Director of the Transfer Center and Medical Director for Transitions of Care. Joslin’s initial priorities are balancing patient placement between the Downtown and Community campuses, and streamlining our inpatient discharge process.
