Monday, July 27. HealthLink seminar. Joint preservation, cartilage restoration and surgical options for knee and hip pain

Robert Sherman, MD, Upstate Medical University, and Todd Battaglia, MD, Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Cartilage Center of New York, will discuss the most recent advances in minimally invasive treatment options for joint pain, especially knee and hip pain, including joint preservation and cartilage restoration which may prevent or delay the progression of arthritis. Thursday, July 30. HealthLink seminar. HoLEP treatment for enlarged prostate
5 to 6  p.m. HealthLink/OASIS Learning Center, 6333 Rt. 298, East Syracuse. Jessica Paonessa, MD, Upstate Medical University, will discuss Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP), a treatment for an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia).  HoLEP uses a laser to precisely remove the obstructive portion of the prostate similar to open surgery without the need for incisions.  Presented in collaboration with the Upstate Men to Men prostate cancer support group.
