Gustavo L. de la Roza, MD, professor of pathology, has been appointed director of the Anatomic Pathology Division in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He will continue to serve as director of Surgical Pathology. The announcement was made by Robert Corona, DO, professor and chair of the Department of Pathology and vice president of Innovation and Business Development. De la Roza is an anatomic pathologist trained in oncologic surgical pathology and cytopathology with special interest in urological, musculoskeletal and breast pathology. He is board certified in anatomic pathology and cytopathology.
Jennifer Johnstone, MS, RN, NE-BC, has been named director of Professional Practice and Innovation for the Nursing Department, reporting directly to Nancy Page, MS, RN, chief nursing officer. Johnstone joins Upstate from St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, where she served as director for Orthopedic and Spine Services. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Keuka College and her associate’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She is certified as a nurse executive through the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center and as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
