Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital held its annual Halloween parade Oct. 31 for patients and families. Upstate departments were on hand to greet the children and to distribute treats. The event was coordinated by the hospital’s child life specialists.
Volunteers load a truck with bottles and cans donated during the Cans for Cancer bottle and can drive at Destiny USA Oct. 28. The drive raised money to benefit cancer research at the American Cancer Society, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Fund of CNY and the Upstate Cancer Center.
Golisano Children's Hospital Unit 12F won first prize in the Patient’s Choice category for its entry, Poppin PICU, at in the annual pumpkin contest, held Oct. 27 at the children's hospital. Michaela Ennis received top prize in the individual category for her entry, Mickey Mouse, (above), and unit 11G received top prize in the group category for their entry, Donut Fear. The pumpkin entries were judged by the patients, visitors and staff. The competition was sponsored by the child life specialists at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
