Safe Kids Upstate NY Coalition, led by Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, partnered with FedEx and other community agencies for the third consecutive year to teach McKinley Brighton Elementary School students about pedestrian safety in recognition of Oct. 9 as International Walk to School Day. A pep rally was held before heading out for a neighborhood walk both for exercise and to learn more about being safe pedestrians. The students were also invited to visit the FedEx truck to better understand the limited visibility drivers have and why it is important to keep a safe distance when around vehicles.
