James L. Knoll, IV, MD, director of forensic psychiatry at Upstate, was a presenter at a conference titled “Shining Light on Mental Illness” held Oct. 10 at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. The conference was sponsored by NAMI Syracuse, an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Also presenting were Robert W. Myers, senior deputy commissioner with the state Office of Mental Health and Eric Weaver, an expert on managing stress and depression.

Bambi A. Carkey, DNP, PMHNP-BC, NPP, assistant professor in Upstate’s College of Nursing, published  “Improved Access to Psychiatric Care” in the Sept. 29 issue of ADVANCE for NPs & PAs.
