Rebecca Milczarski, MSN, MBA, RN, has been named director of Nursing Recruitment and Retention. In this role, Milczarski oversees the recruitment and hiring process for Upstate nursing including RNs, HCTs, USTs, LPNs, and summer clinical assistants (SCAs) along with other roles at both campuses. Prior to Upstate, Milczarski was the facility administrator at DaVita Dialysis of Central New York and was associated with Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network and Upstate NY Transplant Services. Milczarski completed both her master of science degree in nursing/health care management and master’s degree in business administration at the University of Phoenix; a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Lemoyne College; and her RN certification and AAS degree from St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in Syracuse.
Steve Maley is the new interim manager for Sterile Processing at the Downtown Campus. Maley has more than 30 years experience in the industry, most recently serving as manager of Sterile Processing at Crouse Hospital. Maley served a key role in creating regulations for certification in New York state for sterile processing and surgical technologists. He is the coordinator of the annual Sterile Processing conference; provided experienced input into the standards for AAMI (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation); and served on the Board of IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management).
