Christopher J. Fullagar, MD, assistant professor of emergency medicine, has been elected to a two-year term as president elect of the Air Medical Physician Association (AMPA). With more than 400 members nationally and internationally, AMPA represents extensive expertise in the field of medical transport. Membership includes those in medical specialties, such as emergency medicine, critical care medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and various surgical subspecialties.

Michael Lax, MD, of the Occupational Health Clinical Centers, was quoted in the Watertown Daily Times and interviewed on WWNY-TV in Watertown and WPDM Radio in Potsdam regarding a plan by North Country advocates to eliminate renovation-related lead exposure.

Donna Bacchi, MD, MPH, was featured Oct. 24 on CNYCentral discussing the effects of an energy drink that has been linked to the death of a 14 year-old.

The Upstate Cancer Center was profiled Oct. 23 in the Post Standard and on Syracuse.com.

Thomas Welch, MD, of the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital was quoted Oct. 23 in a Post-Standard, Syracuse.com article about a partnership between the children’s hospital and the Utica-based Kelberman Center to serve the autism community. The lynchpin in the partnership is Upstate’s Henry Roane, PhD, and Heather Kadey of Upstate’s Family Behavior Analysis Clinic.
