Upstate to host national event aimed at getting Native-American students to pursue medical education

Dr. Brian Thompson, who is helping to direct the workshop, set for Oct. 18 to 20, said the numbers of Native-American students who are pursuing medical education is too low for a population in health crisis.


New teaching space for Clinical Laboratory Sciences helps put spotlight on program

Clinical Laboratory Sciences graduates will get to view the new lab space—on third floor of Weiskotten Hall—during a reunion and open house Oct. 16.


Upstate student is one of 29 nationwide to win honor from the American Society of Hematology

Christina Marcelus, a third-year medical student, has been selected to participate in the American Society of Hematology’s 2018 Minority Medical Student Award Program. She will receive a cash award of $7,000 to further her research and attend annual meeting.
