Mini Malhotra MBA, MHA, has been named as the interim administrator for the Department of Neurosurgery. Malhotra’s experience in developing neuroscience collaborative partnerships with Arnot Health and URMC will support her efforts toward integration of neurosurgery outpatient services.
Twelve students from Upstate’s College of Medicine have been elected to membership in the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. Eligibility is determined by scholarly achievement, leadership, professionalism and service. Newly elected members have committed to contributing a significant amount of their time as academic tutors for first- and second-year students, and to upholding academic integrity and professional behavior. The chapter sponsors a student clerkship liaison program, service/leadership programs, a visiting professorship, and participates in Student Research Day planning, among other activities and events. Senior inductees in the class of 2018 are Anudariya Dean, Jared Deck, Benjamin Depo, Anthony Kashou, Matthew LeVasseur, Mitchell Lyons, Zachary Oaks, Alissa Olsen, Julie Pillittere, William Reed, Aneesa Thannickal, and Emily Wanamaker.
