Nancy Towne, MHA, BSN, RN has been appointed deputy nursing director of perioperative services at the Community Campus and procedural services at both the Downtown and Community campus. Towne returned to Upstate Nursing in March 2017 as the associate director of procedural services. She was named interim director for perioperative services at Community in January 2018. In her current role, she will continue to oversee the operating rooms at Community, the Surgery Center, PACU, Patient Testing Center (PTC), and Central Sterile. She will also continue to oversee the procedural areas at both campuses including radiology, endoscopy, AP1/ODS, Intraoperative MRI, vascular access, and hemodialysis. She will now also oversee the Family Birth Center at Community Campus. Towne has more than 20 yeas of nursing leadership experience. She has a master’s degree from SUNY Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Upstate College of Nursing.
